As a Notary Signing Agent, providing a great experience with a loan closing is not hard.
Stick to the basics, and don’t over explain the loan documents. Let’s take a look at the 10 key steps to a perfect loan signing before you watch the closing video.
10 Steps to a PERFECT Loan Signing, every time!
- Accept the closing from the hiring company
- Call to confirm the date and time of the loan closing with the borrower
- Print (or Pickup) the documents, and arrive 15 minutes prior to closing
- Introduce yourself as the Notary Signing Agent
- Confirm and review the borrowers identification
- Review the CD/ALTA/HUD Statement
- Get documents signed, dated, and notarize the documents needed
- Double check documents for errors
- Confirm closing was completed with hiring company
- Drop the loan package off
In order to do loan signings on a part time or full time basis, you’ll want to become a Certified Notary Signing Agent. When you have the right credentials, you’ll finally be eligible to be hired for these loan signings on a daily basis.
You’ll be meeting people in your local community, or performing an online closing through a video webcam.
As you guessed it, the main function is walking a borrower through a set of loan documents. You’ll be spending most of your time showing them where to sign and date. Some of the forms may need to be filled out as well.
Once you’ve completed the signing, you’ll review for errors, notify the hiring company the signing is complete, and off you go to your next appointment!
